Brigid A. Makes has served on Quantum-Si’s board of directors since June 2021. Ms. Makes served as Chief Financial Officer of Vivani Medial, Inc., a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company, from 2022 to 2025. Prior to that Ms. Makes served as an independent consultant for medical device and healthcare companies from 2017 to 2022, specifically advising on financial, funding and strategic responsibilities. From 2011 to 2017, Ms. Makes served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Miramar Labs, Inc., a biotechnology company. From 2006 to 2011, Ms. Makes served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of AGA Medical Corporation, a medical device company focused on minimally invasive treatments of structural heart defects and peripheral vascular disorders. Prior to joining AGA, Ms. Makes held various positions at Nektar Therapeutics Inc. from 1999 to 2006, including serving as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to 1999, Ms. Makes also served as Chief Financial Officer at Oravax Inc. and Haemonetics Corp. Since 2020, Ms. Makes has served as a member of the board of directors of Elutia, Inc., a publicly traded biologics company, where Ms. Makes serves on the Audit Committee, and Bithe Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. Ms. Makes has also been a member of the board of directors of Mind Medicine Inc., a publicly traded neuro-pharmaceutical company, from 2019 to 2023, where Ms. Makes served on the Audit, Compensation, and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committees during her tenure. Ms. Makes holds an M.B.A. from Bentley University and a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance & International Business from McGill University. Ms. Makes’ qualifications to serve on the board of directors of Quantum-Si include her extensive executive leadership experience in the healthcare and life sciences industries and her experience serving on the board of directors of other publicly traded companies.
